Snowbird Clubs in Destin and South Walton

It's been fun welcoming our winter visitors back to the beach. Regardless if this is your 10th year or first year in the Destin area, our goal is to make your home away from home as comfortable as possible while you enjoy the joys of living in Destin, Florida.

As a snowbird, you become a Destin local for a few months and as such you may want to join the club. There are two Snowbird Clubs that provide a forum to meet other “seasonal” locals and enjoy some of the social and sports gatherings that are held along the Emerald Coast. The Snowbird Clubs are also a great source of information on services, activities, shopping and dining options. Here’s the details:

If your home away from home is in Okaloosa County (around Destin Commons and west to Okaloosa Island), the Destin Snowbird Club meets on Tuesdays at the Roost which is located in the Destin Community Center at 101 Stahlman Avenue (right behind McGuire’s Irish Pub). Learn more at DestinSnowbirds.org.

If your seasonal home is in Walton County (Miramar Beach (Backyard Burger) to the east along Hwy 30A), The Walton County Snowbirds meet Wednesday mornings at Destin United Methodist Church, 200 Beach Drive. Learn more at WaltonCountySnowbirds.com.

Both organizations are great and help snowbirds find charitable and social activities, find the best places to eat and drink and make friends in the process.  With approximately, 2,000 members, it is not hard to find other seasonal visitors that share your same interests. Whether you enjoy golf, tennis, fishing, the arts or just socializing, one of our local Snowbird Clubs is sure to get you pointed in the right direction.
