The Henderson Park Inn has been an icon along Florida’s Emerald Coast for years. In fact, after experiencing damage from Katrina, it became a place of refuge for evacuees from the storm. Now, a NEW The Henderson opens, a luxury resort that sits adjacent to the Inn and overlooks the 208-acre, Henderson Beach State Park. The resort is reminiscent of a grand seaside manor. The Northeastern, Cape Cod-style architecture is indicative of resorts found in New England featuring shingle siding and steep gabled rooflines.
 
Our guests and staff are excited about the breadth of new amenities The Henderson brings to our community. The nature-inspired spa features 11 spacious treatment rooms and salon. Gulf-to-table cuisine will be served within the resort’s signature restaurant, The Primrose.  The Horizons Bar as well as the roof top terrace is ideal for watching the Emerald Coast’s colorful sunsets. And with 30,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space, we’re thrilled about this new location for business and community events. The outdoor green will potentially hosts concerts and outdoor events that will provide a wonderful location for gathering with locals and visitors alike. 
 
From the moment guests arrive at The Henderson, they are embraced by a residential and old-world charm that is reflective of the unspoiled beauty of the area. There is no lobby, but an expansive living room with high ceilings and a wall of windows that faces the maritime forest and the beach. 
 
The interior feels as if it has been part of coast’s landscape for over 100 years, featuring walnut floors and reclaimed beams and trusses. Specifically designed to connect guests to the environment, the resort is infused with several, intimate gathering areas and celebrates our thriving local ar community. With commissioned artwork created by 13 local and regional artists, there is more than 465 original works of art featured throughout the property and guest rooms.
 
The Henderson celebrates Destin’s Gulf-to-Table seafood traditions at the Primrose restaurant, named for Destin’s first commercial fishing boat. In addition to fresh catches bought daily from fishermen, the menu offers fine selections of steaks and chops and shareable plates. The open-kitchen design restaurant also features a sushi bar as well as extensive outdoor terrace seating.
 
With a striking octagonal-shaped design, Horizons Bar is the perfect gathering spot to watch the sunset and enjoy signature cocktails along with panoramic views of the Gulf and adjacent nature preserve.
 
Drawing on the inspirational venue with treatments that incorporate the natural surroundings, The Henderson’s Salamander Spa features 11 spacious treatment rooms and numerous amenities, including a steam, sauna and whirlpool that overlooks the treetops of the preserve. Treatments are derived from the Gulf’s crystal waters, untouched dunes and indigenous plants.
