Silver Shells Resort and Newman-Dailey Support Local Firefighters Training Excercise

No two days are ever the same for the team at Newman-Dailey Resort Properties and that was especially true last week. Newman-Dailey and the St. Maarten HOA at Silver Shells Beach Resort teamed up with local firefighters for an important training exercise.

Firefighters from five fire stations across Northwest Florida teamed up to practice how they would work together in the event of a fire in a high-rise condominium. Destin Fire Chief Kevin Sasser explained that the reason for the training was to learn to work together in the event of a multi-department incident.

The group responded to a simulated fire on the 11th floor of the St. Maartin building. Just as if it were a real fire, the alarm was tripped and every crew member jumped to action. It was great practice for the crews, and at the end of the session, each crew knew their role in the event of a real fire or emergency situation.

The team at Newman-Dailey always enjoys partnering with local organizations to make Destin a better place to live, work and play. Whether it is partnering with local law enforcement or firefighters for a drill, participating in a fundraiser or helping build a new building for a local charity, partnerships that benefit many are at the core of our corporate culture.

We have great respect for our local firefighters, and appreciate knowing that they are not only practicing and training but working together as a region to ensure local residents and visitors are as safe as possible.
