Founder & CEO, Jeanne Dailey, Recognized with Hospitality Award

Each year, the Walton County Tourist Development Council (WCTDC) recognizes a pioneer in the tourism industry with the prestigious Van Ness Butler Jr. Award. This award is bestowed upon a community member for his or her visionary leadership in helping to shape South Walton into a premier tourist destination.

As reported on local news affliate WMBB Ch. 13, the Walton County Tourist Development Council (TDC) named our Founder and CEO Jeanne Dailey as its 2014 Van Ness Butler, Jr. Hospitality Award recipient.

It was nearly 30 years ago that Jeanne came to the area and opened her real estate and vacation rental company. In those days, there weren’t many amenities except the sugar white sand beaches. Today, South Walton is a thriving tourist destination with four state parks, quaint beachside cafes, fine dining restaurants, boutiques, galleries, nature tours, and much more.

The WCTDC’s Director of Sales and Special Events stated “Jeanne has made a positive impact in the tourism industry in South Walton through her hard work and contributions. She exudes the spirit of this award and is the perfect recipient of this designation.”

Jeanne joins a group of highly respected individuals who have been instrumental in shaping South Walton’s tourism industry and have taken a leadership role in responsible growth. The Van Ness Butler, Jr. Hospitality Award was named after and first presented to Van Ness Butler, Jr. in honor of his outstanding leadership and continuing his family’s legacy in making South Walton a leading beach destination, which focuses on preservation and celebrates its many natural assets.

If you haven’t been to South Walton’s beaches recently now is a great time for a return trip. The weather is spectacular and food and wine festivals fill the fall calendar.
