Santa Rosa Beach Featured Among Least Known Beaches in Florida

Do you like being an insider? Do you pride yourself on knowing about the hot destinations, products, stores and restaurants first. Here's another hidden treasure that you knew about first. USA Today recently featured the 10 Least-Known Beaches in Florida and among the many hidden gems, Northwest Florida's Santa Rosa Beach was on the list.

Sure we've long known Santa Rosa Beach is a special place. Like all Northwest Florida beaches, Santa Rosa Beach is known for the sugar white sand and turquoise waters but it is also home to quaint beachside eateries, state parks, a golf course and art galleries.

Gulf Place, located across from Ed Walline public beach access in the heart of Santa Rosa Beach, features delectable restaurants, including La Playa and Fire Restaurant. Miss Lucille's Gossip Parlor is a beachside staple serving coffees, ice cream and light bites. The Artists of Gulf Place is a nine-member artist cooperative, featuring diverse talents including Billie Gaffery's whimsical folk art, Dwight Ward's coastal pottery, Kris' tie-dye creations and Wendy Mignot's infamous leather and pearl jewelry, to name a few.

The Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club and Vue Restaurant make it easy to enjoy a day playing manicured fairways, including one of the only gulf fronting holes in the region, as well as an incredible meal in a climate controlled setting overlooking the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Several rare coastal dune lakes are located within Santa Rosa Beach and are easily enjoyed by biking or walking the Timpoochee paved bike trail that meanders along Scenic 30A. Anyone visiting Santa Rosa Beach, won't want to miss a meal at Stinky's Fish Camp. Acclaimed chef Jim Richard has become infamous for using only the freshest ingredients and local seafood to create classic coastal dishes with New Orleans influences.
