Dolphins Dance in Destin

The beach in October is spectacular in South Walton and Destin, Florida! Sunsets are more vibrant; the Gulf is calm; sand bars form wading pools teaming with marine life; and the Monarch Butterflies arrive for their annual migration through the area. Life is good!

Area wildlife is especially active. Everywhere you turn, the fauna is out filling up before winter. Even the dolphins seem more active. While it's fun to enjoy them from the beach, it's especially entertaining to hop aboard one of the area's Dolphin Cruises for a marine adventure.

We recently experienced SunQuest Cruises SunVenture II dolphin eco-tour and we had a blast! The sunset tour along the Choctawhatchee Bay is filled with unexpected surprises that delight, educate and entertain guests.

Moms and kids are invited to join the captain to steer the boat. While heading out and enjoying the scenic beauty, the boat makes a special stop to pull up a crab trap and use the opportunity to educate the group on the contents, which for our recent excursion included a blue crab, catfish and hermit crab. Dolphin spotting was a group activity and everyone happily participated in searching for the next dorsal fin.

A Newman-Dailey preferred partner, SunQuest offers special discounts for our guests. Just another reason to add a trip to the beach among your Autumn plans. Click here for a full list of available South Walton and Destin vacation rentals.
