Sea Turtle Nesting Season is here!

They are coming home. Sea turtles nest on the same beach where they were born and we're thrilled to hear the beaches of South Walton and Destin have a growing number of nests. There are currently 53 nests along South Walton Beaches in addition to the nests that have been identified in Destin.

Endangered sea turtles including Kemp's Ridgley, Green and Loggerhead sea turtles nests along these shores and need your help in having a successful crawl. Be sure to bring all items off the beach at night and fill in any holes you dig during the day. In addition, reduce the use of flashlights and only use flashlights with protective covers to walk along the beaches at night.
